If a neighborhood is kept clean and orderly, its inhabitants will erspect one another’s property and the law. But if the streets are full of graffiti, litter, and vandalized stores and buildings, residents become contemptuous of social norms and crime will rise.

Clutter … it’s the stuff that annoys you every time you look at it or have to find something in it. It seems to ‘mate in the night’ in closets, on tables, in corners ‘ just about anywhere ‘ and can multiply until you’re no longer able to navigate through the house without feeling irritated, confused, or overwhelmed. Like it or not you can feel clutter, the environmental equivalent of congestion, as much as you can see it.

I have a story for you. This is one of the “you never know how feng shui changes will work out for you.” When my mother got sick (stage 4 lung cancer) in March 2006, she was given 1 year to live. At that time, her house was very cluttered and as she continued with her chemo treatments, her house got dustier and messier because she couldn’t keep up with things.

One of the greatest challenges in our abundant world is to simplify and organize our possessions. A colleague of mine swears that her belongings mate in the night, especially the ones in storage.
