Essential Feng Shui Tips- Chairs
Inner Feng Shui
Chairs represent kindness. A classic act of kindness is to offer a person a comfortable place to sit. Do you do this for yourself? Are you kind enough to yourself to make your own comfort and support a priority? Think of something kind you can do for yourself each day, and do it. Say affirmations such as “KINDNESS, COMFORT, AND SUPPORT SURROUND ME ALL THE TIME. I ATTRACT KIND, SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE INTO MY LIFE, TODAY AND ALWAYS.”

Ceiling fans are a necessity in some climates. They dissipate heat and create a refreshing breeze in an otherwise stifling environment. Yet they can appear dangerous if not located correctly in a room.
- Ceiling fans that are situated directly over beds, desks, or dining tables can disturb relaxation and concentration, so be sure to install them away from furniture you use often.
- In general, the higher the fans are, the better. When low, they can feel dangerous to anyone passing underneath. The same ominous feeling occurs when fans dominate rooms in either size or color. Fans work best when they blend into the background and are of simple design.
Essential Feng Shui Tips- Chairs
Because comfort is so important in Feng Shui, ergonomics (the study of the human body’s physiostructural needs) plays an important role. Chairs can either invite relaxation or cause stress and discomfort, negatively affecting body alignment and peace of mind. Make sure the chairs you choose—whether for dining, lounging, or working—are comfortable.
- Your body knows! Always sit in a chair before buying it. Chairs should fit your body and be very comfortable. Most wooden, plastic, and metal chairs need to be padded or cushioned.
- Insist on a comfortable work chair. If your company won’t supply it for you, buy one for yourself. You are worth it!
