Q & A – Chinese Art Presentation
Q. I have been asked to speak on Feng Shui at a local art museum/gallery that is hosting ancient Chinese art. I’ll need to tie the talk in to ancient Chinese culture.
Would you or someone you know have a talk already prepared, or an idea? I usually talk on the miracles of Feng Shui. I am not wanting to reinvent the wheel if there is some information you could share.
Thanks! Nancy F., WSFS Graduate Consultant
A This is a great idea, and so timely with the Olympics happening, too!
I’ve not heard of an existing presentation with this topic but I would encourage you to use the pieces of art and artistic images to use as examples for some specific aspects of Feng Shui like Ch’i, Yin and Yang, Wind and Water (the literal translation of Feng Shui), living with Nature, Cosmic Order, Seen and Unseen, balance of the Five Elements and the Principles that Everything is Alive, Connected and Changing.
Let me know if this helps and I look forward to hearing all about it!

Liv,
Thanks for your suggestions! Actually, your email opened a door. I delved into the history of Feng Shui in a book called, “Interior Design with Feng Shui” by Sarah Rossbach, and it was filled with goodies. I found myself re-impressed with this art. The talk turned out great. Many people asked questions and stayed for a 2-hour discussion. The women who invited me repeadedly thanked me. Makes me want to do more talks!
